A SEEMINGLY terrifying clip which shows a man’s arm being savaged by a shark may well not be what it appears to be.
The viral video shows a bloke who pulls his arm out of the water to reveal the sea beast attached to his forearm.
Screams can be heard as he tries to free himself of the shark which is thrashing around on the pier.
The sea monster appears bloodied on the face.
But the clip comes to an end before we see what happens next.
And while the video has gone viral, some viewers have suggested that it may have actually been a sick prank.
Instagram user ocean_magazine pointed out: “What is really happening here is that this man has captured a juvenile scalloped hammerhead, slaughtered it, ripped out it’s teeth and jaws, and thrusted his arm down its throat.
“He repeatedly smashes its head and body against the dock while screaming for help and looking like an absolute w***** while doing so.
“Not only does this video falsely display a shark attack that onlookers might see and certainly viewers online will watch, but he will inadvertently put all fishermen into the same basket for all those viewers.
“The level of disrespect shown by the man and his friends is inconceivable.”
