Fisherman was stunned to hook the injured predator. Netizens believe he was hit by a boat
A shark with a deformed snout was hooked by a fisherman off the coast of 12 Mile Beach, Australia. The unusual discovery was shared on Facebook by the professional, where Internet users compared the unusual appearance of the predator with that of a dolphin.
“Has anyone seen a blue shark with a nose like this before?” asks the caption of the video shared on Facebook.
“I decided to publish it to see what other people thought”, revealed Jason Moyce, the sea veteran, in a statement to the Daily Mail tabloid.
The idea worked. Most of the commentators on duty believe that the deformity occurred after the animal was run over by a vessel.
However, a considerable portion preferred to react with good humor and projections beyond fantastic.
“I think the mother collided with a dolphin,” ventured one user. “Probably a pub brawl,” speculated another.
Out of curiosity, the blue shark receives this name due to the indigo tone that it presents along the back. The species is also known for its long migratory journeys and the ability to swim at high speeds.
It is unclear whether the fisherman released the animal after the encounter.
